A little about myself

Hello (soon to be) faithful readers. Welcome to my COM 1111 blog, where I will be posting my explorations into mediated communication systems. Before we delve into the nitty-gritty content of my actual class work, I first wanted to tell you a little about myself.

I can dream in code
When I was in graduate school, I realized I had a wonderful talent of solving code and scripting problems in my sleep. At the time, I was programming 3D modeling software to randomly mutate existing forms through a series of algorithms. Sometimes, when my code wasn't working, I would go to sleep and dream about reading through hundreds of lines of script and code, and often I would find the problem in the actual dream. I would wake up the next day and realize that my dream-solution would actually work!

I want my beliefs to be challenged
Hopefully, throughout this course you will not be able to figure out my political, religious, or moral beliefs. However, that doesn't mean that I don't encourage investigating these ideas in any of my classes. On the contrary, I find that some of the best projects are often the projects that make me question my own deeply held beliefs. You have complete freedom in this class to tackle any subject you wish, take any point of view that you wish. I look forward to being challenged.
